These versatile cutters are made of precision ground and hardened stainless steel and can be used for a variety of tasks. Straight and offset versions are both available, with one serrated cutting edge to prevent sliding. With spring-loaded lightweight polypropylene handles and an easy-to-reach safety thumb lock, this tool is suitable for both right and left-handed users.
A nibbler (or nibblers) is a tool used to cut sheet metal with the least amount of distortion. They could be utilised to nibble on. One type works similarly to a punch and die, with a blade moving in a linear motion against a fixed die, removing small particles of metal and leaving a 6 mm broad kerf. Another type shears the sheet along two parallel lines 3–6 mm apart, rolling up the waste in a tight spiral as it cuts, akin to tin snips.
