Especially in metalworking and machining applications, cartridge rolls and caps are often utilized parts in a variety of industrial operations. Cartridge rolls are cylindrical abrasive tools used for deburring, blending, polishing, and completing uneven surfaces, edges, and contours. They are sometimes referred to as abrasive cartridge rolls or spiral rolls. Usually, a cylindrical core is encircled by an abrasive substance (such silicon carbide or aluminum oxide).
